The PODCAD lab building in Port Lincoln, South Australia

About

A manufacturing lab built by clinicians who understand patient outcomes.

PODCAD is a podiatrist-led orthotics lab in Port Lincoln, South Australia, designing and manufacturing custom orthoses for clinics Australia-wide.

Our story

Created to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and orthotic manufacturing.

PODCAD was founded in 2018 by podiatrist Michael Furmaniak, built on the belief that practitioners should have access to high-quality orthotic solutions designed by people who truly understand patient outcomes, biomechanics and clinical care.

After years in clinical practice, Michael saw first-hand how much the quality and consistency of an orthotic matters, and recognised the need for a dedicated local manufacturing hub focused on precision, reliability and practitioner support. Putting a clinician behind the wheel of manufacturing simply made sense.

Today, from our lab in Port Lincoln, we work closely with clinics across Australia, providing custom orthotic manufacturing backed by clinical insight, quality craftsmanship and ongoing support.

The PODCAD difference

We work in the industry ourselves, so we know what clinics need from their lab.

Our goal is simple: help clinics grow with confidence through high-quality orthotic solutions and responsive support from start to finish.

  1. Designed by a podiatrist, for podiatrists

Clinicians are involved throughout design and manufacture, so you can be confident each device is tailored to your prescription, your patient’s presentation and their treatment goals.

  2. Local manufacturing

Designed and made in Port Lincoln, South Australia, with CNC milling and 3D printing in-house. We supply clinics Australia-wide, and international shipping is available.

  3. Clinical support from start to finish

Talk to a podiatrist on our team at any stage, from prescription advice and product recommendations through to adjustments and remakes.

  4. Consistent quality

A considered process from prescription review to hand finishing means every order is made to the same standard. If a fault is found at the initial review, we’ll replace the device free of charge within four weeks of the original dispense date.
